For our 25th release we welcome Maya Q to All Centre. The Co-Select resident who first appeared on our 2nd Anniversary Compilation last year supplies three tracks for her debut solo release.

The EP begins with I just wanna, an ethereal track underpinned by a swung garage beat. Melodic pads immediately set the mood, propelled forward by the commanding drum beat and booming sub bass. Soaring leads fill the soundscape, accompanied by a haunting vocal sample.

The next track, Saunton Sands, brings down the tempo slightly. The track gradually fades in with a wistful chord progression which is guided by another deftly swung drum pattern, this time also taking cues from mechanical electro beats. A melancholic vocal is introduced, leading the track’s emotional core.

Maya Q closes the record with Are my close (for Joe). Piercing leads accompany stuttering drum breaks and a deep arpeggiated bassline. Penetrating choral stabs contrast with cavernous, time-stretched vocals creating a distinct otherworldly atmosphere.

I Just Wanna is available across all platforms from February 26th.
