On ACEN039, we welcome two All Centre mainstays, Endless Mow and Maya Q, for a double-header split EP. The pair follow up their own records on the label with two exemplary solo tracks.

First up, Endless Mow provides a celestial dancefloor cut with Merrily, I hastened to the chicken shoppe. A playful string melody hovers above funky-inspired drums before launching into a heavy percussive workout, punctuated by sharp chants. The introduction of an otherworldly melody carries the track forward, backed by a sublime plucked chord progression.

On the flip, Maya Q delivers a melancholic UKG-esque club track, beno (soft). Swung percussion sets the groundwork for a deep bassline and whirling synths. The hook is then introduced, an infectious vocal cut that sails above delicate synths before the track plunges back into a sub-driven percussive section. The vocal chops grow more frantic as the track progresses, culminating in a glitched-out conclusion to the record.

Merrily, I hastened to the chicken shoppe / beno (soft) is available across all platforms on the 1st of July.

All the tracks are great but Stepper is the standout for me! pounding syncopated kicks, rolling handdrums and playful sample work, dancefloor destroyer. Jack G.
